Paul Nicholls believes the Game Spirit Chase at Newbury will do Master Minded "the world of good" after his break.

The dual Champion Chase hero hasn't been seen since finishing third at Cheltenham in November when running with a fractured rib.

Nicholls said: "He hasn't been back in work long but I'm happy with him. Whatever he does, the race will do him the world of good."

Ustedes in the Spirit

Voy Por Ustedes will take a step back in trip on Saturday when he lines up in the Game Spirit Chase at Newbury.

Alan King sent the 9yo for the Lexus Chase over 3m at Leopardstown but he failed see out the distance in sixth.

King said: "He didn't stay in the Lexus. Depending on how he gets on at Newbury, it will be either the Queen Mother or the Ryanair. The horse is in very good form."

Bajan tops Trophy list

Andy Turnell's Blue Bajan heads the 28 confirmations for Saturday's totesport Gold Trophy at Newbury.

David Pipe holds a strong hand with Mutual Friend, Mamlook and ante-post gamble Ronaldo des Mottes.

Nicky Henderson could be represented by Spirit River and Stravinsky Dance, while race specialist Gary Moore has left in three - Harry Tricker, Numide and First Avenue.

River heads the team

Spirit River spearheads Nicky Henderson's totesport Trophy team.

He may be joined by Fairyland and First Point, but Stravinsky Dance is doubtful as a change in race times means Sam Waley-Cohen will struggle to get from Warwick, where he rides Long Run.

Henderson said: "You'd have to be impressed with Spirit River at Cheltenham and it was the natural progression to come straight here."
